The Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor-the drop in Process Intensification
Dr Eoin Syron is an Associate Professor in the School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering in University College Dublin, Ireland. He was a Co-Founder and CTO of OxyMem who launched the first commercial MABR in 2014. OxyMem’s MABR has been installed in wastewater treatment plants around the world to increase treatment capacity and improve effluent quality and is now part of DuPont. Eoin’s current research is focused on resource recovery from waste streams. With interests in membrane-based recovery processes, the incorporation of electrolysis and the reuse of nutrients for agriculture, horticulture and algaculture applications. He continues to investigate the engineering challenges for the scale up of innovative technologies.
